The home is known both as the Cannon Home and the Stickley House, after the original and subsequent owners, respectively. The architectural style is Federal.

Title: Mr. John C. Burch, 1827-1881

Abstract: John Christopher Burch was a prominent attorney in Chattanooga, Tennessee. He attended Yale University in 1847 and practiced law in his native state of Georgia before moving to Chattanooga in 1852. He served in the Tennessee state House and Senate in the late 1850s before becoming editor of the Nashville Union and American in 1859. He served as Secrectary of the U.S. Senate from 1879 until his death in 1881.

Abstract: Dr. Baird was born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee on October 17, 1853 and died in Chattanooga, Tennessee on October 13, 1878. After practicing medicine for a relatively short time in Chattanooga, he died from yellow fever and is buried in the Chattanooga where he died.

Abstract: This is a portrait of Father Abram J. Ryan taken during 1862 while in Tennessee. Ryan was a priest at the Church of the Immaculate Conception from May 1865 until July 1867. He served as a chaplain in the Confederate Army during the Civil War.

Abstract: Barton was born in Grainger County, Tennessee. He served in the Superior of Tennessee after working as a lawyer in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Barton spoke out against secession, but he aided Tennessee in its war effort working with the East Tennessee,Virginia, and Georgia Railroad following Tennessee's secession.

Abstract: This is a hand-tinted studio portrait of Robert Cochran in his Civil War uniform. Cochran fought in the Union Army with the 9th Tennessee Calvary Company E. Cochran was born on 11-24-1814 and died on 2-22-1897. He is buried in Cochran Cemetary in Englewood, McMinn County, Tennessee.

Abstract: Oath of Allegiance signed by a Confederate soldier after the Civil War. By signing the oath, the soldier swears to denounce the Confederate States of America and give his loyalty to the United States instead. The oath was sworn in Jackson, in the office of the Provost Marshal.
