Title: The Burning of Ell Person at Memphis

Abstract: Subtitled "A Report made for the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People." The author, James Weldon Johnson, was the Field Secretary for the NAACP. The report details the investigation of a murder that occurred in Memphis on April 30, 1919 of a 16 year old girl named Antoinette Rappal. Several allegations were made against both black and white men. The report brings together articles from the Memphis Press.
