Title: Lick Creek bridge in Decatur County, Tennessee. Photographer : unknown Date Created: 1940 Abstract: This photograph is titled, "Lick Creek Bridge in Decatur County, Tennessee". It shows an automobile driving over the Lick Creek bridge in Decatur County, Tennessee. Note the license plate on the vehicle which is shaped like the state. The license number 1-317 probably indicates the car is from Shelby County as the initial number used to indicate the size of the county in the state. Shelby and Davidson fought over the 1 and 2 designation thinking that the capital should be number 1 even though its population at times was less than Shelby County's.
