Abstract: Lucinda Williams is pictured in her Tennessee A and I State University track uniform. She ran the third leg of the 4x100 meter relay that won a gold medal at the 1960 Rome Olympics. At the 1958 Pan-American Games in Chicago, Illinois, Williams won three gold medals, in 100 meters, 200 meters and 4x100 meter relay, and posted an American record in the women's 200 meters.

Abstract: This is a photograph of the first library building (in Maryville?) (previously the library had occupied a floor in a downtown building). dedicated in February 1931. A new larger library was occupied in early 1981. The American Red Cross occupied the building until 2007 when they moved to larger quarters. in Maryville (300 E. Church St.) In the spring of 2007 a gift shop Dandy Lions opened at this location.

Abstract: Edward S. Temple served as the head coach of Tennessee State University's women's track team, the famous Tigerbelles, for forty-four years. He also served as head women's track coach on two United State Olympic Teams. His Tigerbelles won twenty-three gold, silver and bronze medals in Olympic track competition, as well as thirty-four national track titles and thirty medals in the Pan-American Games.
