Title: Vanderbilt vs. Michigan football poster

Abstract: This print heralded the first game at Dudley Field, Vanderbilt's new football statium, on October 14, 1922. It proclaimed this game as the "South's Greatest Spectacle" for which seats were selling fast. Admission for the game was $1.50 or $2.00. The occasion was very festive, including a parade led by Governor Alf Taylor and thousands of students and alumni. In his first trip to Nashville, Cornelius Vanderbilt, the great-grandson of the university's namesake, attended the game with his wife. The result of the game was a scoreless tie.

Abstract: Poster is for a big radio show at Lexington High School on Thursday, May 24, sponsored by the American Legion. Admission was 30 or 60 cents. Rod Brasfield was a comedian member of the Grand Ole Opry. Guessing the date because Brasfield started with the Opry in 1940, was invited to join in 1944, and Thurs May 24 happened in 1945.

Abstract: Among the earliest campus organizations, Y's played significant roles in student life. Local preachers conducted Sunday night services in the dormitory lobbies. With the strict behavior rules of the time, Y's provided welcome social life at Middle Tennessee State Normal School.
