Summary:(Copy ?) of a letter dated November 18, 1857 from John Ross, Principal Chief of the Cherokee Nation, to Colonel George Butler calling on Butler to remove intruders from the "Neutral Land" per an act of the National Council. A copy of the act, originally enclosed, is no longer attached. A note on the back indicates that this letter is a copy, but Ross's signature appears to be in his own hand.
