Summary:This is a letter from Logan Anderson to A. Fergusson, dated December 2, 1841. Fergusson had written to Anderson requesting information on Jerry Smith's service during the American Revolution. Anderson cannot help him because he was not yet born, but he gives Fergusson the name of someone who might be able to help him.

yours of the 23rd ult [ultimo] came to hand on yesterday wishing Some information respecting Jerry Smith s Revolutionary Services I was not born untill [until] after the revolution was over of course I Know nothing of his services I [unclear: became ] acquainted with him after the war the latter named gentleman I am unaqcuainted with Mr Cobb I will refer you to John Patterson Esqr [Esquire] [unclear: Snr ] of Summer County who was acquainted with both the gentleman if they did any Service its Known by him call on him and I think he can give you the information desired _
