Sir,

You have been appointed [unclear: agent ] of this Bank for the county of Smith to fill the vacancy occasioned by the resignation of Col [Colonel] William Martin [unclear: Enclosed ] you have a [unclear: Bond ] which you will execute (if you should think proper to accept the appointment,) take the oath prescribed by the charter and forward the [unclear: Bond ] to Bank without delay, proper certificates are required with regard to the solvency of your security
