April 10th 1823

Received of William Fitzgerald , clerk of the circuit court of Stuart county Seventeen dollars, Being the amount of state tax by him collected for the year ending the first day of October eighteen hundred and twenty two which he is by law bound to acct [account]. for agreeably to his return this day rendered for said year 1822 $17

Tho [Thomas] Crutcher
[added: Treasurer of West Tennessee There has no return for the year 1821 If Mr [Mister] John Allen does not send a return before the rise of Davidson circuit court I shall have a judgt [judgement] against him and send Execution immediately Your Tho [Thomas] Crutchers ]
