Some of the whigs of my Town have made Bets to a considerable amount upon the exact majority for Mr [Mister] Clay in your state over James K. Polk One Hundred and thirteen is the number but upon within more nor less by the Whigs__ The majority mentioned above is reported to us to be the majority for Mr Clay in the popular vote. You will very much oblige me by answering this Communication and giving me the reported majority as well as the real majority in Tennessee If the secretary has reported please give me also his majority as per his report an early answer will oblige Very Resply [Respectfully] from obd.
