Friday Jany [January]. 8th 1819

Mr [Mister]. Williams of Tennessee submitted the following resolution, Resolved the President of the United States be requested to institute a negotiation with the Chicasaw tribe of Indians for the cession of a tract of land four miles square including a [unclear: salt spring reserved ] to said tribe by th- 4th article of a treaty concluded on the 19th day of oct [October]. 1818 said cession when made shall be for the benefit of the state of Tennessee on said state paying the expense of holding said treaty__
