by the advice of Govr [Governor]. J. K. Polk I inclose one promisary [promissory] note of Doct [Doctor]. S.B. Pillow for $20._ Due 4th Feby [February] 1839 which you will oblige me by collecting & when collected pay yourself out of it and send me the balance by mail
