Sir I recd [received] yours wishing to know where I was and what prospect of receiving your pay from me I am in the employ of Genl A [Andrew] Jackson , in his distillery and Shall be during this season, I have not cash at present but if you will take property I can make you payment, at any moment, if that will not suit you, I hope you [added: wait] will a little untill [until] I can have a little time to make the money, when you shall receive it honourably [honorably] I am Sir yours Alex Alexander
