Knoxville 14th June 1798
Sir

I have just time to inform you, that the Indians are requested to meet the Commissioners at Chota near Tellico , on the 25th Instant, and is supposed the treaty will be held at the latter — Mr. Moore is in the Neighborhood and will be here today — The bearer hereof Mr. James Irwin is a particular friend and acquaintance of mine, permit me, to introduce him to your notice & attention
