This document is a certificate for four shares of stock, dated July 1, 1850, in the Adelphi Theatre Company in Nashville, Tennessee, and was purchased by Frederic Sloan. The certificate was donated to the Tennessee Historical Society in 1969 by Mr. Sloan's great niece, Jeannette Sloan.
This is to Certify, that Frederic Sloan is owner of Four SHARES OF STOCK in the ADELPHI THEATRE COMPANY, at Nashville , incorporated in 1850. Shares $25 each, paid in full, and transferable on the Books of the Company.
In Testimony Whereof, It is Ordered by the Board of Directors, that the Seal of the Company be hereunto affixed, and the signature of the President be subscribed. This first day of July 1850
