Summary:
This document is a receipt dated May 3, 1820. William Blythe of the Cherokee Nation, for the sum of five hundred dollars sells to Henry Welker a thirty year old man named George Kemp.
Know all men by these presents that I William Blythe of the Cherokee Nation doth Bargin [bargain] and sell to unto Henry Welker one negro man by the name of George Kemp aged about thirty years for the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand paid and [and] I do agree to warrant and defend against all other lawfuls [lawful] claims for life in witness wherof [whereof] I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of May in the year of our Lord 1820
