Dr [Dear]. Sir;

You will see from Major Killingsworth letter that he declines acting as Surveyor. Please make out a commission for Jones__ I send you a petition from Wilson county in behalf of Allison__ I have concluded to remit the balance of the imprisonment, but no more. I have to be at the Penitentiary every day otherwise I should have been down to see you. The convicts are much better__ no deaths last night or to day__ and only eight to prescribe for this morning__ I hope the [unclear: disease ] will leave the prison

Wm Carroll June 13 1833
