Summary:This document is a letter written by Andrew Jackson to Major William B. Lewis on December 14, 1807. In the letter, Jackson orders Major Lewis to allow the Tennessee Volunteers to return to Nashville, not enter them into service again soon, and pay them 10 dollars apiece for their weapons.

The Volunteers of Tennessee having been permitted to return to Nashville to await any order that may be given them by the Gov. [Governor] or the President; you will be good enough, if they should not be immediately ordered into service again to pay them for any complete stand of arms with its [unclear: aventrements ] which they may deliver you, at the rate of ten dollars apiece.
