Dear Sir

Although it is long since I had the pleasure of seeing or addressing you yet I am emboldened from our former acquaintance to recommend to your civilities & attention Mr. Harrison Almand a Gentleman of my acquaintance from Virginia who has determined to visit your Country with a view to a purchase & settlement. he is wealthy & respectable & will become a worthy member of your Society. be pleased to excuse this freedom & believe me with much respect & esteem
