Summary:This document is a letter written by John Sevier to Andrew Jackson on June 14, 1798. In the letter, Sevier tells Jackson that the Cherokee are requested to meet with Commissioners at Chota, the Cherokee capital, on June 25, and a treaty will likely be signed in Tellico.

Knoxville 14th June 1798

I have just time to inform you, that the Indians are requested to meet the Commissioners at Chota near Tellico , on the 25th Instant, and is supposed the treaty will be held at the latter — Mr. Moore is in the Neighborhood and will be here today — The bearer hereof Mr. James Irwin is a particular friend and acquaintance of mine, permit me, to introduce him to your notice & attention
