Summary:This document is a letter dated April 20, 1829 from James H. Peck in St. Louis, Missouri to Governor Sam Houston of Tennessee. The purpose of the letter is a plea of assistance for Jacob Philipson, who is charged with larceny. Peck asks Houston to consider Philipson's background and circumstances in assisting the sixteen year old boy, while admitting he is unaware of the circumstances of the offence.
