Summary:This document is a letter from Sampson Williams to Colonel David Henley in Knoxville, dated December 24, 1794. Enclosed with the letter was the certificate of a man by the name of Morris Shane (or Shannon). Williams also wrote of the murder of three men at the hands of Indians, and he discussed the necessity of deploying more troops for the protection of Tennessee citizens.
