| Summary: | This document is a letter written to John Armstrong, Secretary of War, from Willie Blount on April 7, 1814. In the letter, Blount commissions Captain James Cowan's company of soldiers to act as the militia cavalry on the Franklin County frontier. The cavalry have been asked to protect the settlers on the frontier from Indian attacks. |
