Summary: | This document is a contract between the State of Tennessee and Philip Denham to teach school in Washington and Carter Counties in 1802. It is one of the earliest Tennessee school contracts in existence. The contract covers Denham's duties as "School Master", his rate of pay, and the back of the document has a list of students and their time spent at the school. |
