are currently five servers dedicated to digital library services.
- Digital
Library Public Server ($20,000) This server is used for public access
to UT digital collections. Storage capacity is .438 terabytes.
Purchased in July 2001.

Digital Library Service Equipment

Portable Storage Units (Maxtor Personal Storage
5000DV) These units are used to handle the logistics of moving
large amounts of data from remote locations. The devices can be
connected using USB 2.0 or IEEE 1384 interface. Each drive has a
capacity of 160 GBytes, $500/unit.
- Sun StorEdge L100
Tape Library This unit is used to provide off-line tape storage
for all library servers, $40,000.
