DLC Projects
Many of the projects that the Digital Library Center has undertaken have come to fruition
as digital collections that are available for public use. These are listed on the UT Libraries
Digital Collections page.
Several other DLC projects are under development:
- UT Scholars Archive
- The UT Scholars Archive aims to organize, provide access to, and preserve
the intellectual capital of the University of Tennessee. Links to scholarly and creative work
of faculty and students, as well as digital versions of university publications are included.
- Newfound Press
- Drawing on the resources that the university has invested in digital library development,
the UT Libraries is launching a digital imprint to make scholarly and specialized works available worldwide.
Newfound Press experiments with effective and open systems of scholarly communication, and collaborates
with authors and researchers to bring new forms of publication to an expanding scholarly universe.
The inaugural publication is an original manuscript by Lera Knox, Goodness Gracious, Miss Agnes:
A Patchwork of Country Living. To celebrate this event, Margaret Knox Morgan and her
husband, Stanton A. Morgan, will be creating a substantial endowment for the Digital Library Center.
- From Pi Beta Phi to Arrowmont
-
It is a collaborative effort between the UT Libraries, of which the Great
Smoky Mountains Regional Project is a part, the Arrowmont School of Arts
and Crafts and the Pi Beta Phi Elementary School, both in Gatlinburg. With a two year grant from the Institute of Museum and Library
Services, and technical assitance from the Digital Library Center, another
part of the legacy of Southern Appalachia will be made available to
researchers of the region, and the general public.

The DLC is in the process of developing a "wish list" for future projects. Stay tuned to this page
