ORGANIZATION - ACCESS - DISTRIBUTION - PRESERVATION
The University of Tennessee (UT) Libraries is exploring the feasibility of hosting a collection of journals online. In January 2002 the Association for Evolutionary Economics (AFEE) and UT began a pilot project to digitize and provide online access to volumes of the Journal of Economic Issues (JEI). The two organizations viewed the project as an opportunity to create a framework for improving access to research material and to assist scholars in dsseminating their peer-reviewed work.
The JEI volumes available here provide a prototype for the service we envision. This site offers browse and search capabilities, access to use data, and links to the journal publishers Web pages. Although we do not offer access to current issues of JEI, our vision embraces open access to complete runs of journal titles from volume one through the present. We welcome inquiries from journal editors regarding the addition of journal titles to the UT Scholars Archive. |
